Cancer Awareness Poster Competition Held at GIC Pokhrikhet on Independence Day
As part of the Independence Day celebrations, a Cancer Awareness Poster Competition was organized at Government Inter College (GIC), Pokhrikhet, Pauri Garhwal, to engage students in spreading awareness about cancer prevention, early detection, healthy lifestyles, and the importance of timely medical care. The program was organized under the guidance of Mr. Prahlad Rawat, Principal of GIC Pokhrikhet, with Mrs. Sahu serving as the Program Coordinator. The initiative was supported by Chhabi Sewa Foundation and coordinated by Dr. Atul Bamrara. The faculty members of the school actively supported the program and motivated students to participate enthusiastically. Through their creative posters, students conveyed important messages about cancer prevention, healthy living, early detection, and the need for timely medical consultation.
The competition provided students with a creative platform to express their understanding of cancer awareness through art, colours, messages, and meaningful visual communication. The initiative highlighted that awareness and prevention are important tools in the fight against cancer and that young people can play an important role in taking health messages to their families and communities.
Students participated enthusiastically and presented thoughtful posters carrying messages related to healthy living, avoiding harmful habits, early detection, regular health check-ups, and cancer prevention. Their creative efforts demonstrated both artistic ability and a growing understanding of important public-health concerns.
