Inspiring Young Healthcare Professionals through Art and Awareness
A Cancer Awareness Poster Competition was successfully organized at the PARAAJ Institute of Medical Sciences, Pauri Garhwal, with the objective of sensitizing students towards cancer prevention, early detection, and the importance of healthy lifestyle choices. The event was conducted under the aegis of Chhabi Sewa Foundation as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting health awareness and community engagement. The competition was organized by reputed educationist Dr Atul Bamrara assisted by PIMS Faculty Sheetal Mamgain and Akshat Khugshal. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of various paramedical disciplines, who showcased their creativity and understanding of cancer-related issues through informative and thought-provoking posters. The participants effectively conveyed messages on topics such as tobacco cessation, early screening, healthy living, mental well-being of cancer patients, and the significance of timely medical intervention.

The posters reflected not only artistic talent but also a deep sense of social responsibility among the budding healthcare professionals. Through vibrant illustrations, impactful slogans, and evidence-based messages, students highlighted the need for collective action in combating cancer and reducing its burden on society. The event was inaugurated by faculty members and institutional representatives, who appreciated the efforts of the students in spreading awareness about one of the world’s most pressing health challenges. During their address, they emphasized that healthcare professionals play a vital role in educating communities about cancer prevention and encouraging regular health check-ups.

The competition served as a valuable platform for students to express their ideas creatively while strengthening their knowledge about cancer awareness. It also aligned with the broader goal of fostering preventive healthcare practices and community outreach among future healthcare providers. Following the evaluation by the judging panel, the First, Second, and Third positions were awarded to Tanisha Rana, Vikas Bharti and Pinki repectively to the most impactful entries. The winners were felicitated with certificates and prizes in recognition of their outstanding contribution. All participants were appreciated for their efforts and commitment to the cause of cancer awareness.

Speaking on the occasion, representatives of Chhabi Sewa Foundation reiterated the organization’s dedication to promoting public health education and empowering youth to become ambassadors of positive change. They emphasized that awareness remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against cancer, as early detection and informed lifestyle choices can significantly improve outcomes.
