Powering Viksit Bharat: District Level Science Conclave 2026

The University Campus at Pauri Garhwal became a vibrant hub of scientific inquiry and innovation as it hosted the District Level Science Conclave 2026. The conclave was organized under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, Ministry of Education, Government of India, in proud association with the Chhabi Vishwa Foundation, creating an impactful stage for grassroots academic talent to explore sustainable energy pathways.

Grassroots Brilliance: 30 Finalists Across 15 Blocks

A major highlight of the event was the participation of 30 exceptional students selected from across all 15 developmental blocks of Pauri Garhwal. Having qualified through competitive evaluations at the block level, these young innovators brought diverse perspectives to the district forum through scientific demonstrations, innovative project presentations, and open deliberations focused on clean technology.

Following rigorous evaluation by an expert panel, the conclave recognized the outstanding performers of the competition:

• First Position: Rohit Rawat (Jaiharikhal Block)
• Second Position: Shruti (Dugadda Block)
• Third Position: Jayanti (Khirsu Block)

These students distinguished themselves with practical, research-backed models addressing the region’s geographic challenges and future energy needs.

Presentations and technical sessions explored viable solutions for a self-reliant, low-carbon energy ecosystem:

• Baseload & Hybrid Security: Expanding micro-hydro potential, nuclear advancements, and decentralized off-grid distribution networks.
• Himalayan Clean Tech Initiatives: Designing eco-conscious community frameworks that preserve fragile hill ecologies while meeting growing power requirements.

Inaugurating the conclave, Chief Guest Professor Kala commended both the winners and participants for their inventive approach. He emphasized that achieving the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 requires grassroots institutional backing and active youth participation to turn laboratory science into viable community solutions.
